FULL FRONTAL TRAVELER
Have you ever dreamed you were butt-naked in front of a room with buzzing paparazzi?
Let me set the scene…There’s a mike stand minus a podium to hide behind. All of your goodies are bared to the audience.
Because every instinct is signaling to run, its only shock that keeps your feet grounded to the floor. One hand attempts to cover your pubic area while the other arm squeezes tightly across your chest.
Sweat from your forehead trickles down like melted butter. Flashing cameras dilate your pupils to near blindness.
Heartstopper
It sounds like a marching band is near, but wait..that’s just your thumping heart.
Well, I’ve never had that dream! I’ve read different versions in countless books and watched it played out in movies.
In reality, starting this solo travel blog feels quite similar to that crazy dream.
TAKE IT OFF (Travel baggage)
Writing is such a personal art and I started feeling inadequate. Was I ready to expose my life and thoughts on a platform that goes beyond social media?
I loved to write but I hadn’t practiced in ages. I was a college drop-out without a degree to make me ‘qualified’.
In the vain age of social media, I did not have perfect veneers or a flat stomach.
Strip Search
My ‘following’ was mostly friends and family.
No ‘connects’.
In my blog, 2020 Olympics, I write about refusing to entertain any negativity that would take my eyes of the prize! Stats on small businesses’ and blogs’ success rates invaded my thoughts.
They came to enforce why I shouldn’t…couldn’t. I’m diving in anyway!
Every uncertainty is a reminder of old layers that still need shedding. I’m not looking back even as the weights fall off.
UNVEILED
Even before I started traveling frequently, I was very detailed in my social media posts.
Any event would mean hundred of pictures uploaded with commentary.
My Facebook page was known to tell a story. I often wondered if I was an over-sharer.
Like a blogger, I posted advice and recommendations. From time to time, friends would ask me for travel ideas.
The Full Monty
Now I know, I was walking in my purpose.
Though I’m one of the few that still creates Facebook albums, they will now come in handy as content. I was scared to do what I was already doing!
I’m a solo travel blogger. The veil no longer disguises. I can see clearly now.
TAKE THE (SKINNY) DIP
I’m on a course of self-discovery. The subject is travel and writing.
The primary objective is how to merge the passions. A few weeks ago, a Facebook friend suggested on a post that I should start a traveling blog.
That simple hint turned into an ‘AHA moment’. It was as if God had sent this messenger!
State your claim, write your name!
Seasons ~Donald Lawrence
He confirmed and answered my longings. Within an hour, I had the name of the blog (Poof…Bee Gone) and logo.
The About section breaks down my nickname’s history.
Intimacy (In-to-me-see)
Any other time, I’m such an over-thinker. I knew this was divine and I had to act without delay.
By starting this (solo travel) blog, I’ve made the decision to bare my mind, will, and emotions.
I’m a naked traveler from here on out so brace yourselves (wink wink)!
Allow me to go before you as a guide. Wherever you may be as a traveler, my goal is to inspire you to… #POOFBEEGONE.
Even though I have no issues with flying solo, consider this a personal invitation: Will you join me?

May 1, 2023 at 8:09 pmIt takes a special person to do what you do. You inspire us with your travel stories from your travel adventures. Good to know the inspiration behind your blog’s name. Donald Lawerence is one of my favorite gospel artists, “Season” is a powerful song. We all have a calling and your season of Poof Bee Gone has given birth.
