Celine Dion: Courage World Tour (Goodbyes, Immortality, and a World to Believe In)

CELINE DION: COURAGE WORLD TOUR (GOODBYES, IMMORTALITY AND A WORLD TO BELIEVE IN)

Celine (Heavenly) Dion

I’ve been thinking of death a lot lately!

One could attribute this to my age (late 30’s), the high suicide rate in our world and/or the senseless death tolls that rise by the minute!

Though I see writing as a high calling, I’ve debated mentioning death so soon after writing a “kick the bucket” blog!

I mean, I’m a solo travel blogger.

Death or the meaning of life would probably fit more into a lifestyle niche.

I’ve been known to break the rules!

I’ve never found a comfortable fit inside of a box! Poof…Bee Gone is no different!

While working yesterday, I pondered on writing this blog.

I live in Miami. Technically there is no traveling involved.

I’m also no stranger to the American Airlines Arena (AAA), as it’s the home of the Miami Heat.

‘Flying on My Own’?

Earlier this year, I learned Celine Dion was leaving her residency in Vegas. All those years she was there, and I never took advantage.

I began planning a trip to Vegas immediately (with an injured ankle).

I had made a vow to not miss any more of my favorites. Going solo is always an option!

I can only wish to have seen some of the greats (who are no longer with us) like Whitney Houston or Luther Vandross.

By the time I had my Vegas tripped mapped out, Celine’s Facebook page announced a world tour.

I checked and sure enough, Miami had two dates.

I invited a friend who seemed disinterested. As usual, the show must go on!

I wasted no time buying my ticket on the first day they were available.

Now, January 17th had arrived.

Death and a bucket-list chance to see one of my top singers fought for importance in my thoughts.

What was a writer to do? How would I “spin it”?

‘Courage’

As I’m scrolling through social media, I see a TMZ headline: “Celine Dion’s mother, Therese, dead at 92”.

I don’t believe in coincidences!

My first thought was of condolences.

My mom (Marie Therese) died when I was nine. I don’t like to compare deaths but I have been there!

I checked AAA’s and Celine’s Facebook pages to see if the concert was canceled.

This is one instance that would be totally understandable.

‘My Heart Will Go On’

The AAA confirmed the show was ongoing. Celine’s page updated the show would be dedicated to her mom.

I was relieved but still concerned about Celine.

Bittersweet memories came to surface!

My mom used to always sing with my sister and I. We would practice at home and sometimes it led to singing at church!

It may have been my idea for my sister and me to sing a duet at her funeral.

I remember being gently ushered off the stage when our singing turned to wailing.

Goodbyes & Immortality

Celine now had a similar script and it couldn’t be easy!

Goodbyes never are!

They’re one of the last words uttered before a trip!

We say them casually since they’re expected to be temporary. Even then, we don’t know if they will be our last.

Goodbyes around death will vary from person to person. Many are denied the opportunity because death doesn’t hand out invitations.

Celine’s family gathered around her mom’s bedside to sing songs.

Shortly before passing, my mom told me she would die. There was no exact date, so the verbal goodbye never took place.

My Facebook post on Jan 7, 2020, read:

This year, I hope to have more peace about death. It’s inevitable. We live as if we don’t have an expiration date. We want to keep our loved ones forever but it simply doesn’t work that way.

Sandra Joseph

Regardless of your views about an afterlife, death has proven we’re not immortal in this one.

A mother of 6 was a hit and run fatality the other night.

Death doesn’t play fair!

The year 2020 has over 300 days left. Do you know how many you will see?

Even if you live to see Jan 31st, 2020, there’s no telling what changes may come. We only have NOW!

If you were looking for a sign to take that next big risk, THIS IS IT!

Stop procrastinating! Write out that bucket-list and start working on actually doing it!!!

Most people (rich or poor) tend to reflect when death approaches. Many have regrets!

Unfortunately, time has run out!

Don’t let that be you!

‘Cause I have found a dream that must come true. Every ounce of me must see it through.

Immortality, Celine Dion

‘A World to Believe In’

2020 must not end with more unfulfilled dreams! There’s a world out there waiting for you to discover it!

Travel is only one means of exploration.

Your passions are directors! Follow them wherever they may lead.

If you fail, that means you tried! You owe yourself unlimited do-overs!

Courage, don’t you dare fail me now!

Courage, Celine Dion

Death is unavoidable, regrets aren’t!

You may be stuck in a rut over losing a loved one! I’ve been there!

Fight to be free if you want to keep living!

It’s abnormal for a loved one’s death to paralyze you indefinitely!

We celebrate birth but resent death! They are both parts of the circle of our lives!

Music has helped me to conquer the depression that may come with death. I run to it on a daily basis in everyday life!

Wherever you are in the world if you love romantic music I highly recommend the Celine Dion ‘Courage World Tour’.

She has been blessed with musical talent and a great stage presence.

‘Courage’

Celine’s very life embodies the message of courage.

This week is the anniversary of her brother and husband’s death. Now, her mom.

Her fans made sure she felt our love! ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ was the final moving performance to her “shero”!

You can view a list of upcoming tour dates here. Miami was sold out so don’t wait too long!

If the genre or even music is not your thing, a seed of courage has been planted in you just by reading. Your thoughts and corresponding action will determine your harvest!

And I must choose to live, for all that I can give. The spark that makes the power grow. And I will stand for my dream if I can. Symbol of my faith in who I am.

Immortality, Celine Dion

On a lighter note, the videos below are from the concert! Click for a laugh!

Forgive my phone and voice! Blame the latter on passion and a loud arena!

Completely agree, we need to get out there and do things before it’s too late. 2020 does have over 309 days left but it’s not a long time if you think about it.

I definitely agree. I feel that with the new year, and new decade, there’s no more time to waste when it comes to getting out there and doing what you want to do. 2019 was definitely a transitioning year for me to prepare for the work that I’m putting in towards my goals ❤️

Celine is so amazingly talented. I agree with you about her heartfelt music and our limited time to live our best lives. My heart goes out to you— losing your mom so young. Thank you for the reminder to appreciate today and not put off our adventures.

Good read. You are correct, live every day like it’s your last. I’ll be at the American Airlines Center tonight in Dallas for Mavericks vs Clippers. I was going to flying to Miami for the Clippers game later this week but going to Malaysia instead. Maybe next time.

We can’t have this conversation about death and Celine Dion without mentioning “Immortality” and “That’s the Way it is.” Ome of the reasons I love her so much is her music is timeless and speaks to every season in your life. Even as a teenager growing up, her songs empowered, soothed and educated me. We had every one of her cds and played them on repeat. Thank you for letting me know about the World Tour and the reminder that life needs to be lived.

That makes me sad! You are so young to be thinking about death. It was a great post though and from your heart. I will be 70 this year. I, too, think about death daily. I worry that I won’t wake up from sleep. I don’t worry so much for me because I won’t be there. I worry about my children and grandchildren. I worry about my husband. I probably perseverate on this. I should stop because it isn’t healthy.

Hi Linda, that’s the thing about death. It doesn’t have an age limit. But I’ve been thinking about it in a healthy and accepting way. I hope you get to the point where your worry turns into that too! We want you living as much as possible! 🙂
